Monday,Monday

Windy and raining here. This is my first morning home. Instead of reading articles to beef up my Lit review, I'm weaving in ends of the three scarves that I've made recently and watching MSNBC. The dish keeps going out because of the gale force winds. Ah gentle spring...-I'll post a picture when they're blocked.

Change...

Wow! Last blog entry was in Nov. of 2007! So much has changed. My baby girl is now 8. She lost the blue sweater that you see on the left. (That was a tough one to forgive) She can actually knit herself now. Not that she does, after making a bookmark for her beloved G'ma and a scarf for her doll, she put those needles down. Sad really, since her garter stitch is gorgeous, very even. She loves to draw and do crafts, so I pray that she shows an interest again.

My big news is that during my absence, I started school, got a new job, continued school, got my dream job, and graduated this May. Yes. I am exhausted. I am also not done with my thesis, hence the level of procrastination that I have sunk(?) to, I'm updating my blog for the first time in 2 1/2 years. Ugh!

The other change that has happened is sad. Then I feel silly for feeling sad. My favorite podcast has vanished into thin air. Sounds mysterious and dramatic doesn't it? Well that is just how L&V operated, so I guess that it is appropo.... Thanks for the memories girls!!!

Bad Blogger, Bad Blogger!

OK, so color me the worst blogger on the planet. It is not that I don't have anything to say, it's just that I have no time to say it in. Even now, I should be putting my daughter to bed. I also have to leave for work at 6:30 am and need everybit of sleep I can get.

Anyway, I just listened to a podcast that talked about process vs. product knitters. Even tho it's so not cool, I am unabashedly a product knitter. I rarely ever look at a project and say, "wow, that looks fun to knit, I'm more like, " I want to wear that " or "that would be perfect for Kiki". Then I totally need to get it done or it drives me crazy! I am working solely on my clap or rather my " practice clap"(I'll fill you in on that one later), because I want to wear it with my new coat when I go to NYC in two weeks. I'm loving the pattern, it is fun to knit, but i'm finding myself short on time and the damn wrap just won't grow. frustrating!!!!!

Rats, Rats and Double Rats!!!!!

What a bummer, my computer which has been reconditioned to near-death, is not letting me get my e-mail. I can send out messages, but not recieve them. I have to log on to web mail, which is a pain and just not the same. I have spent long hours with my service provider and am assured that it is me not them... My achingly long virus scanturned up two viruses, which did not change my e-mail one iota.

Top it all off with the fact that my computer will just shut off after it has been on what it deems as too long and will only turn back on when it is good and ready!

I guess it is time to back up my pictures....

Maiden Voyage

Okay, so one truth I can share is that I am a virgin blogger. This is my first time, be gentle with me.

I can't quite get over the fact that 1. I'm actually going to put my life "out there"; 2. That anyone is going to be interested in what I am saying right now and 3. That I really think that I have time to do this on a regular basis.

The good thing is that this is something that I can control. So many things are uncontrollable, but this only works if and when I tell it to. God, I wish my five year old would do the same!!!!

Alright, now I'm going to go over what's on my needles and then stop, because the dryer is buzzing and I have to get the laundry done before I can go to be tonite. Also because I promised to dance with Kiki and I downloaded some sweet halloween dance tunes!!!!!

1. Coffee cozy-- right now coffee cozys are like socks for me, I always have one on the needles, because I can take them anywhere and they require no thought. Also everyone that I know wants one and I'm giving them for Christmas gifts.

2. A She-Knits bag. I got a couple of kits from She-Knitsforknitters.etsy.com I have also joined the KAL for said bags. These are felted wonders and incredible original designs. this is my first foray into intarsia. I am trepidatious but Sharon from She-Knits is incredibly supportive and also has a great podcast.

3. Clapotis--OK, I haven't cast on yet, and I actually seem to be stalling on this one. I have everything that I need, including fabulous yarn, (which is in my top picture). I'm just a little nervous. I joined the clap ravelry group, so far reading is as far as I've gotten.

That's it, I don't do alot of different things at one time, I love finishing. :)
